Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Webtilly Online Solutions (“Webtilly”, “we”, “us”) collects through webtilly.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and what choices you have. Webtilly Online Solutions is a business registered in Kenya and is the data controller for the information described here.

The short version

  • The numbers you type into a calculator are worked out in your browser. We do not receive them and we do not store them.
  • We collect limited technical information about visits so we can run the site, keep it secure and see which tools are useful.
  • If you email us, join our newsletter or buy a digital product, we collect what you give us for that purpose only.
  • We do not sell your email address or contact details. Advertising partners may collect information through cookies, as described below.
  • You can ask us about your information at any time at hello@webtilly.com.

What we collect, and why

Using a calculator

Webtilly calculators run in your browser. The values you enter are processed on your device and are not sent to our servers because you used a calculator. If a particular tool works differently, it will say so on the page.

Visiting the website

When you visit, we and our providers receive technical information such as your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, the site you came from and the time of your visit. We use it to run and secure the site, fix problems and understand how the tools are used. We use two analytics services: Plausible, which does not use cookies and reports aggregated figures, and Google Analytics, which uses cookies and is only switched on where you have agreed to it, if the law requires your agreement. Our hosting provider keeps server logs, and our security tools record IP addresses involved in login attempts.

Our legal bases are our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site, and your consent where it is required, for example for analytics cookies.

Contacting us

If you email hello@webtilly.com or use a contact form, we use your name, email address and message to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Our legal basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in answering you.

Our newsletter

If you subscribe, we use your email address (and your name, if you give it) to send the updates you asked for: new calculators, tools and resources, and offers related to Webtilly. We use Kit to manage the list. Our legal basis is your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

Buying a digital product

Our free calculators need no payment and no account. If you buy a paid digital product, the purchase is handled by Paddle, which acts as the seller and merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details and handles payment, tax and invoicing under its own privacy notice. We receive the order information we need to deliver the product and support you, such as your name, email address, country and what you bought. Our legal bases are performing the sale and meeting our legal and tax obligations.

Backups

We keep rolling backups of the website so we can recover from a failure. Backups may contain the personal information described in this policy. We keep them for seven days and then they are overwritten.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them in these categories:

CategoryWhat it doesExamples and lifespan
EssentialKeeps the site working, secure and remembers your cookie choices.A WordPress setting that checks whether your browser can show emojis, kept only for your visit. A consent cookie from our cookie tool, CookieYes (its name begins “cookieyes-“), kept for 1 year; it remembers your choice and holds a random consent ID
AnalyticsShows us how the site is used.Plausible sets no cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga (up to two years). Set only after you agree, where the law requires it.
AdvertisingLets ad partners show and measure ads.Set by Google and its ad partners when ads are switched on, and only after you agree where the law requires it.
Affiliate and checkoutRecords a referral, or runs the checkout.Set by the relevant affiliate network, merchant or by Paddle at checkout.

Where the law requires your agreement for non-essential cookies, we ask first through a cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may stop working. Some tools also use your browser’s local storage to remember settings on your device. You can clear it in your browser.

When you make a choice, our cookie tool, CookieYes, records it so that we can show that you chose. The record holds a random consent ID, the date and time, your choices and a shortened form of your IP address, with its last part removed. You can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings button on the site.

Advertising

When advertising is switched on, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to Webtilly or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info, and read more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads are kept away from the calculator and its result.

Affiliate links

Some pages may contain affiliate links, which are labelled. If you click one and then buy or sign up, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The affiliate network or merchant may use cookies to record the referral.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with providers that help us run Webtilly, and only what they need:

  • Spaceship for web hosting, domain, DNS and email.
  • Plausible Analytics and Google (Analytics, Search Console and Drive backups) for analytics, search reporting and backups.
  • CookieYes for the cookie banner and the record of your cookie choices.
  • Kit for the newsletter.
  • Paddle for payments, tax and invoicing on paid products.
  • Google and its advertising partners when advertising is switched on.
  • Authorities, where the law, a court order or a valid legal request requires it.

Some of these providers act on our behalf, and some act independently under their own privacy notices.

Our hosting and several of our providers operate outside Kenya, including in the United States. This means information about visitors, including visitors from Kenya, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, may be processed in other countries.
